Acceptable Use Policy
This policy says what you may and may not do with Bollard Marina. It is part of the Terms of Service.
Last updated
1. Use Bollard lawfully
Use Bollard only to run a marina, dry stack yard, yacht club or harbor business and only in ways that follow the law. You are responsible for knowing the laws that apply to your marina, your contracts, your fees and your collections.
2. Messages to boaters
- Send text messages and emails only to people who have agreed to receive them, or where the law allows. Keep a record of that consent.
- Honor opt-outs right away. Do not text a boater who has replied STOP, and do not try to get around the opt-out.
- Do not send spam, threats, harassment or misleading messages.
- Do not use texting for anything other than your marina’s business with that boater, such as reservations, contracts, billing, safety and weather notices.
- Include accurate information in every notice, and keep records of what you sent.
3. Payments
- Charge only amounts your contract, your posted rates and the law allow.
- Do not use Bollard to process payments for goods or services unrelated to your marina business.
- Do not add a fee for the boater on top of a payment to make up for the platform fee, or describe the platform fee to boaters as a charge from Bollard.
- Do not use Bollard for fraud, money laundering or any activity that Stripe prohibits.
4. Contracts and e-signature
- Use Bollard Sign only for documents you have the right to send, with signers who have agreed to sign electronically.
- Do not forge, alter or sign on behalf of someone without their authority.
- Do not use a template as a final document without reviewing it. Templates are starting points, not legal advice.
5. Liens, late fees and notices
Bollard tracks timelines and helps prepare letters. You decide whether and when to send a notice, charge a late fee or start a lien process, and you are responsible for following the law where you operate. Review your process with an attorney.
6. Protect the service
- Do not try to break, probe or overload Bollard, or get around its limits or access controls.
- Do not scrape the product or use it to build a competing service.
- Do not share your login or let someone use your account who is not authorized.
- Do not upload malware or content you have no right to use.
If you want to test the security of Bollard, email support@bollardmarina.com first.
7. Fair treatment of boaters
Do not use Bollard to discriminate against anyone in a way the law forbids.
8. What happens if the policy is broken
We may warn you, remove content, limit features, or suspend or end your account. Where we can, we will explain why and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
9. Reporting a problem
To report a violation or a security concern, email support@bollardmarina.com.
