Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Hive Asset Group, LLC collects through Bollard Marina, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who this policy covers

Hive Asset Group, LLC, 202 N. Cedar Ave., Suite #1, Owatonna, MN 55060, runs Bollard Marina. This policy covers visitors to bollardmarina.com and the people who create a Bollard account (our customers, who run marinas, dry stack yards, yacht clubs and municipal harbors).

Marinas also enter information about their boaters into Bollard, and boaters give information through the boater portal and the public booking page. For that information, the marina decides what is collected and why, and we act as its service provider. If you are a boater, contact your marina with questions about your information. Our Data Processing Addendum describes how we handle it.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, password (stored in protected form), marina name and your role in the account.
  • Billing details: plan, invoices and payment status for your Bollard subscription. Card details go directly to Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or bank account numbers.
  • Boater information entered by a marina or a boater: names, contact details, emergency contacts, vessel details (name, make, length, beam, draft, hull ID, photo), slip and contract records, waitlist entries, signed contracts and their audit records, messages, and notes.
  • Insurance certificate uploads: files that a boater or marina uploads to show insurance, and the expiry date read from or entered with them. Certificates can contain a name, address, policy number and vessel details.
  • Payment records: the amount, date, status, method type (card or bank) and the last four digits of a payment method. Full card and bank details are held by Stripe.
  • App usage and device data: actions taken in the app, browser and device type, IP address and error logs, used to run and secure the service. We keep an audit log of important actions in an account.
  • Website measurement: for visitors to the site, the page path, the site that referred you, campaign tags in the link (UTM tags), whether you use a phone or a computer, and a random id for your visit. See "How we measure website use" below.
  • Email addresses you submit in forms on the site, for example to save a tool result or join a mailing list, with the tool or page it came from.
  • Messages to us: what you send when you email support@bollardmarina.com.

3. How we use it

  • To provide, maintain and secure Bollard, and to bill for it.
  • To process boater payments for marinas through Stripe.
  • To deliver the emails and text messages that a marina or the product sends.
  • To answer questions and give support.
  • To send service messages such as receipts, security notices and changes to the service.
  • To understand how the public website is used and improve it, using our own first-party measurement.
  • To send you the result or update you asked for when you submit your email address in a form.
  • To meet legal duties and to protect our rights and our customers.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use boater information for advertising, and we do not use it to market to boaters on our own behalf.

4. How we measure website use

On bollardmarina.com, and on the sign-in and sign-up pages of the app, we count visits with our own first-party measurement. It does not use a third-party analytics vendor, and it is described in more detail in the Cookie Notice.

  • What we record: the page path (without any query string), the site that referred you (the host only), campaign tags in the link (UTM tags), which button or tool you used, whether you use a phone or a computer, and a random id that identifies your visit.
  • What we do not record: we do not store your IP address or your user agent with these events. Your IP address is used only in memory to limit abuse.
  • Your signals: we do not set our measurement cookie when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

We use these counts to see which pages help marina owners and which ones do not. They are stored in our database at Supabase.

5. Email addresses you submit in forms

If you enter your email address in a form on the site, we store it with the tool or page where you entered it. We use it to send the result or update you asked for. We do not share it for advertising.

We keep it until you ask us to delete it. To have an address deleted, email support@bollardmarina.com.

6. Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run Bollard, and only as needed. These are our subprocessors:

  • Stripe: payments. Stripe Connect Express for marinas’ boater payments, and Stripe Billing for the Bollard subscription. Stripe holds card and bank details.
  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage, including uploaded documents and insurance certificates.
  • Netlify: hosting of the website and app.
  • Resend: delivery of email.
  • Twilio: delivery of text messages.
  • Intuit (QuickBooks Online): only if a marina connects its QuickBooks account. We send invoices, payments and customer records to it at the marina’s direction.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business. We will tell customers if that changes who holds their data.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. When an account is canceled, we keep its data read-only for 90 days so the marina can export it, then delete or anonymize it. We may keep some records longer where the law requires, for example billing and tax records. Backups roll off on a regular schedule after deletion.

A marina may keep boater records, signed contracts and insurance certificates for as long as it needs them, and it can delete them from its account. Website measurement events are kept in aggregate form.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls by role and database rules that separate each marina’s data from every other marina’s, and we limit who can see customer data. No system is perfectly secure. See our security page for details, and tell us at support@bollardmarina.com if you find a problem.

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@bollardmarina.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what we collect, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to appeal a decision. We will respond as the law requires.

You can block cookies in your browser. Our own website measurement stays off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Text messages: reply STOP to any text from a marina sent through Bollard to stop receiving texts from that marina.

If you are a boater, send requests about your records to your marina. We will help the marina respond.

10. Where information is stored

Bollard is operated from the United States and your information is stored and processed in the United States.

11. Children

Bollard is for businesses and the boaters they serve. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell customers about changes that matter.
