Why we are not private equity
Your plan price is written into your account for 3 years and printed on every invoice. Here is what that means, and what it does not.
The promise
Four things we will not change.
Founder owned
Bollard is owned by its founder, not by a fund that needs a return on a schedule.
One price, no modules
Every module is in Harbor and Fleet. There is no module to add later and no per-slip or per-user charge.
Zero fees to boaters
Boaters pay $0 to Bollard to book, sign or pay. The marina pays one platform fee, shown on every transaction.
3 years in writing
Your plan price is stored on your account and printed on every invoice.
How it works
The lock lives in your account, not a brochure.
- When you sign up, the plan, the interval and the price are written to a pricing record on your account.
- Every invoice we send you shows that price.
- For 3 years from signup, we do not raise it. If you change plans, the price of the plan you move to applies.
- The lock covers your plan price. Usage you choose to add, such as extra harbors or text messages beyond the included amount, is priced on the pricing page.
Why it matters
Marina software has changed hands.
In June 2026 Dockwa announced a strategic growth investment from PSG, a growth equity firm. Storable, the parent of Storable Marine, has been majority owned by EQT, a private equity firm, since December 2020. Both sell software by the module or by the slip count, and their prices are set by owners who answer to investors.
We are not saying a price will go up. We are saying that when ownership changes, a promise on a web page is worth what the next owner decides. A price recorded on your account is worth more.
